The piston has a rotary cylinder drum (2) that slides along a machine shaft (1). It bears against a control face (3) fixed in a housing. Additional pressure is applied to the drum increasing with increasing speed. There can be a peripheral sealing rib (10) on the drum end face, containing connecting ports (7a) between cylinder bores (7) in the drum and control passages (6) in the control face. A chamber (13) in the housing adjacent to the outside (d2) of the rib is connected via a throttle to a leak-off passage (14). On the inside of the rib between the drum and the shaft is a further chamber (15). The connection of this to the leak-off passage is throttled to a lesser degree, or not at all.
