The arrangement consists of an opto-electronic measuring system (10) and an opaque frame (20), which surrounds a viewing aperture (28) through which the tissue is observed. The frame incorporates a lip (26) which ensures that the measuring system (10) is always secured in the same position relative to the tissue being observed. The frame has a face (21) with adhesive surface (22) so that the frame can be attached to a surface which lies adjacent to the surface being studied. The adhesive used on the surface is such that it allows the escape of moisture.
