The invention pertains to liquid tooth-cleaning agents containing sodium hydrogen carbonate as a polishing component in quantities of 1-60 wt.%, as well as water-soluble binders and moisturisers, and having a viscosity of 2-50 P.s (at 20 DEG C). In order to ensure advantageous flow characteristics, a combination of hydroxypropyl guar and polyvinyl pyrrolidone is used as the binder. Water-insoluble polishing agents, preferably silicic acid, are preferably also included.
