Vertical cavity surface emitting laser module for transmitter in long wavelength region

The laser module includes two surface emitting transmitters (VCSEL,VCSEL'). One laser transmitter (VCSEL') is for the longwave region, e.g. 1300 to 1560 nm, while the other (VCSEL) is for a shorter wavelength region, e.g. 850 to 950 nm. Both are mounted on a carrier (T) with the shorter wavelength transmitter acting as a pump element for the transmitter of the longwave region. Both laser transmitters have a perpendicular resonator. The laser transmitter for the shortwave region is pumped by an electrical injection current. The active zone of the laser transmitter for longwave region contains epitaxial layers adapted to indium phosphide.
