Engine with curved piston and gas turbine

The engine has a piston (7) that rocks within an annular cylinder (1). In the cylinder there is a partition with valve controlled scavenging passage (2,2') between air compression and combustion chambers. A valve (25) controls the air inlet to the compression chamber, and an injector (23) delivers fuel into the combustion chamber with a spark plug (24). A gudgeon pin (9) on the piston passes through a curved opening (8) in the cylinder wall and is coupled by a connecting rod (13) to a flywheel (11) fixed to the output shaft (10). The opening enclosed by the cylinder can contain a shaft (17) with a radial flow gas turbine supplied with the exhaust from the cylinder and coupled by belt and pulleys to the output shaft.
