Injection moulding machine with compensation for platen tilting during tool clamping

An injection moulding machine has a main frame(1) carrying fixed(4) and moving(5) tool-carrying platens and a tool closure mechanism(2) by which the moving platen(5) is moved along guides(6). Both platens(4,5) are connected solely by the main frame(1). The fixed platen(4) is connected by a vertically moveable joint(10) to the machine frame(1) and also to a support (9) carrying the injection unit(7). Tilting of the moving tool-carrying platen(5) during tool closure is compensated by a swivelling and vertical movement of the fixed platen(4) and the position of the injection unit(7) relative to the fixed tool(3') nozzle seat remains unchanged.
