发明名称 Detection, measurement and display of tyre tread depth during travel on wet roads
摘要 This novel method identifies and determines variation of tyre tread depth on wet roads. It makes use of a characteristic diagram for maximum wetness signal amplitude, measured by a known type of transducer, in terms of vehicle speed (vi), for at least two different tread depths. The characteristic data are loaded into an evaluation unit. During the procedure, water entrained and thrown up by the tyre from a wet road, is measured as a wetness signal (A). Vehicle speed is measured (vi). The maximum wetness value (Amax) is determined from (A). The value pairs (vi, Amax) are compared with the characteristic curves to determine tread depth. Also claimed is a unit for measuring tread depth.
