The machine has primary (11) and secondary (17) cylinder units which are mounted by swivel connections remotely from the piston rods (10,18) and independently of one another inside the housing (2). The cylinders are linked by flexible air hoses (22,23), one of which has a control valve (24) linked to a footpedal (41) and a dead centre monkey support (40). A swivel joint connects the monkey (16) to one end (27) of an operating beam (28) close to its link (37) with the end (26) of the secondary cylinder piston rod. The other end of the beam is hinged to the housing. The monkey moves in a guide (29,31) which is independent of the secondary cylinder.
