The building with a generally spherical shape has a carrier structure to give a north (10) and south (9) pole, together with a number of longitudinal carrier members (3). The poles (9, 10) are inserted into the outer skin of the building structure, opposite each other. The carrier members (3) are curved, and each member (3) extends from one pole (9) to the other (10), along the outer skin of the building. For the rotation of the spherical building, the bearing assembly at the south pole (9) has bearing shells of steel and roller bearings as high strength polyethylene balls.
