The suction system, for a spinner, has part of the encapsulation between the spinning stations formed by a fixed separator (143b) and a movable dividing wall (164b). Pref. the movable dividing wall (164b) rests on a yarn guide (16a). The opening (148c) opens directly into the collector (14) behind the spinning stations (18,19,20). The collector (14), only for a group of spinning stations (17-20) in a row, has a leading wall (146) which acts as the rear wall of the encapsulation. The air from the collector (14) is passed to a main channel (141c) through at least one channel (141a). A yarn guide (16a,16b) within a spinning station (20) is passed by a carrier (166a) through a passage (147a) at the collector which also delivers expanded air through a side opening (149a,149b) of the collector (14). An opening (148a,149a) extends for at least 30% of the encapsulation (146) height.
