A flat screen is disposed on the surface of the cover of the notebook. The screen has a swingable cover (14) which can be locked into place. The notebook arrangement may also include a video camera (16). The video camera is provided at the end of a flexible cable. When the video camera is not being used, it is covered by a lens cap made of magnetic material. The camera is used to film a document held in the note pad. The whole device is powered by batteries and solar cells stored in the processor housing. The notebook includes an LCD screen, a chip card, card reader, microphone and loudspeaker. An IR transmitter and/or receiver is/are provided for wireless data communication.
