The safety device has an electromagnetic flow meter (CD) fitted in the suction inlet of the water recirculation path. The flow meter is connected into the electric circuit supplying the motors driving the circulation pumps (P1,P2). The supply to the pump is reduced if an unexpected increase in the flow speed in the inlet is detected. The flow meter also activates an audible alarm (AS) if the flow speed increases. The flow meter is connected upstream from the connection of the overflow conduits (C4,C5) to the recirculation pumps. A timer prevents false triggering of the safety and alarm circuits due to micro-interruptions in the electric supply. A second timer ensures re-arming of the safety and alarm circuits after an interruption to the electric supply.
