METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WASHING THE INSIDE OF CONTAINER

An apparatus for washing the inside of a container, comprising a container seat (20) for supporting a container (12) to be washed; a nozzle (36) including a long, thin rigid pipe (38) and a nozzle head (40) having a large number of spouts (48) and fixed to one end of the pipe (38); drive means (74) for reciprocating the nozzle (36) longitudinally; and means (58) for rotating the nozzle (36) on its axis clockwise and counterclockwise alternately. The nozzle (36) is disposed in such a fashion that when moved by the drive means, the nozzle head (40) can be inserted into the container (12) through an opening (16) of the container (12). In this apparatus (10), the nozzle head (40) can be linearly reciprocated while rotating alternately in opposite directions and emitting washing solution.
