The motorway diversion sign comprises a series of road marking barriers located at intervals along the road. The barriers are pivoted on a post (1) placed on the inside of the crash barrier (2) opposite to the lanes concerned. It comprises a metal arm (3) which pivots on the post pivot and which, in the folded position is on the internal side of the crash barrier. A marker panel (30), fixed to the end of the arm, is able to pivot about a horizontal spindle so as to be folded and placed inside the crash barrier. When the metal arm pivots axially it is accompanied by its lowering.
