FIELD: radio engineering associated with measurement of time delays of ionospheric waves relative to ground wave in the "Ground-Ionosphere" waveguide; can be used in radio navigation, in distance measurement systems of thunderstorms and other pulse radiators with mainly vertical polarization of electric field. SUBSTANCE: for determining the time delay of ionospheric wave relative to ground wave use is made of two mutually orthogonal vertical loop antennas that are used to receive signals corresponding to mutually orthogonal horizontal components of the electromagnetic field. Then signals proportional to the ground and ionospheric waves are generated, and the interval between them is measured. The novelty in the method is the generation of signals corresponding to the moment of entry of the ground and ionospheric waves. Thus, the ground wave signal is generated according to relation: Hr(t) = Hx(t)+Hy(t), and the ionospheric wave signal - in accordance with expression: α′(t) = Hy(t)H′x(t)-H′y(t)Hx(t), where H′x(t),H′y(t) - derivatives of time with respect to the current values of mutually orthogonal magnetic components Hx(t), Xy(t) of the electromagnetic field. EFFECT: possibility of determination of time delay of the ionospheric wave relative to the ground one at unknown location of radiator. |
