A method of forming a textile article, e.g. pillow, duvet, is described in which an air permeable material is used to form a cover into which a filling (18) can be introduced. The edges of the article (13, 14, 16, 17) are sealed by, for example, ultrasonic welding or permanent adhesive to form a seam which is impenetrable by allergens down to a size of 0.6 .mu.m.
