The movable stand has a main frame (1) having a plane vertical surface for supporting glass. The lower part of the frame has wheels (6). A male fixing hook (15) is fixed onto complementary female hooks (16) mounted on the vehicle (V). Rollers (13 ) rolling in vehicle runners (14) allow vertical displacement of the fixings so as to pass to an engagement position in which the fixings on the stand and vehicle are at the same height. The wheels are then suspended above the ground and can be locked onto the vehicle. A second frame sliding on the main frame and has a base support for the transported glass. Hydraulic actuators are provided to cause relative sliding of the two frames. A rod (11) allows retracting the wheels when the stand is suspended on the vehicle.
