FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to disinfection of tap and waste water . apparatus has tank for sodium chloride solution, mixing chamber with inlet and outlet pipes, and electrolyzer. To reduce power consumption, material usage, and dimensions, and to increase service life and efficiency, electrolyzer is mounted inside the mixing chamber and is composed of a hollow electrode closed on its lower part and being cathode, into which another electrode (anode) is inserted. Lower part of hollow electrode is connected through a pipeline to sodium chloride solution tank, and upper part of hollow electrode incorporates channels connected to mixing chamber. In cross-sectional planes of electrodischarge cell, rod electrodes are mounted in parallel, the ones being mounted in one cross-section are perpendicular to those in the following cross-section.
