A rigid block (2) of parallel fluid-circulating tubes and radiating fins is formed and retained together by top and bottom collector plates (3,4) and lateral side plates (5,6), both made of folded metal sheet. The collector plates and side plates are initially secured together by mechanical cooperation of their end formations, prior to welding to complete the assembly. Each side plate includes a projection (20) at each of its ends, which engages in an end opening (17) of a corresponding collector plate. The rim (19) of the opening of the collector plate is then inwardly deformable to engage in a slot (21) formed in the projection of the side plate to lock the two components together. |
