The body (1) of the probe is made from stainless steel and has a flange (3) which enables it to be fixed to a chimney wall (2') such that one portion is within the chimney (1a) and the remaining portion is outside (1b). The portion (1a) within the chimney contains a capillary tube (6) within which is located an oxygen measuring cell (7). The capillary tube (6) is encircled by heating resistances (8). Protection from heat and from fumes other than oxygen is provided by thermal insulation (10). The heating resistances enable measurements to be taken under controlled conditions, soot to be burnt off and calibration to be made. |
