The parasol has a sloping supporting pole (1) and a base (2). The pyramid shaped frame (3) is fixed to the pole (1) and the fabric (58) is fixed to the frame. The frame is attached to the pole on the side where it forms an obtuse angle with one of the corners of the base of the frame (5, 6, 7, 8). It is attached to the pole by an additional bar (15) which an extension of the side bar (11) which extends from the opposite corner of the frame. The corners of the base of the frame (5, 6, 7, 8) are made of corner pieces (13, 14) which have rods for connecting the bars which meet in the corners. One corner piece (13) is rigid and forms the corner where the frame is attached to the pole, the other corner pieces are hinged with an axis of rotation (36) at right angles of the base of the frame.
