The invention relates to a multi-phase light screening agent. The aim of the invention is to provide an improvement in the light screening properties by a special arrangement of prior art light screening agents and prevent direct contact between chemical filters and the skin. The light screening agent consists of at least two separate and essentially liquid phases, where the u/v filters are in at least two separate phases and the phases spontaneously separate after a brief and gentle mixing process while the u/v filters remain in the phase in which they where originally contained. The light screening factor is increased by a multiple by the multi-layer arrangement of the invention. It can be applied to the skin via a dispenser in which the liquid phases are separate and mixed before use.
