<p>Packing articles in containers, esp. rigid boxes for transportation, consists of filling the space around the article inside the box with a plastic foam. The plastic material is foamed inside >=1 flexible bags and these bags are then packed into the space around the article to fill the box. There is no direct handling of the foam plastics, which is extremely difficult on account of its stickiness. Where the article to be placed in the box has a tendency to adhere to the foam, this eliminates the necessity for previously wrapping the article i.e. double packaging operation is eliminated. As a result the entire foam surround is produced much more easily.</p> |
