PURPOSE: To produce an electroconductive acrylic fiber, capable of developing a wide range of uses in clothing applications such as sweater and having excellent electroconductivity and excellent whiteness degree and further excellent in process passableness. CONSTITUTION: This electroconductive acrylic fiber comprises an electroconductive substance having >=10<-3> S/cm electroconductivity in a volume of 15-70vo1.% based on an acrylonitrile-based copolymer at (5/95)-(60/40) area ratio of a core part/sheath part and has >=7μm<2> cross-sectional area of the core part. The acrylic fiber is obtained by arranging a solution of the acrylonitrile-based copolymer in an organic solvent in the core part and a solution of the acrylonitrile-based copolymer in an organic solvent in the sheath part, spinning the solutions so as to provide (5/95)-(60/40) area ratio of the core part/sheath part of a core-sheath conjugated spinneret, then drawing the formed fiber, subsequently heat-treating the drawn fiber and thereby shrinking the fiber by 5-50%. The resultant fiber has (5/95)-(60/40) area ratio of the core part/sheath part, contains 15-70vo1.% electroconductive substance having >=10<-3> S/cm electroconductivity in the core part and further has >=7μm<2> cross-sectional area of the core part.
