PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition comprising a specific resin and/or a monomer and/or an oligomer and a specified rutile type titanium dioxide, excellent in shielding effects when formed into a thin film and useful for metals used in household electric appliances, etc. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises a resin (e.g. an acrylic resin) and/or a monomer and/or an oligomer having the ability to form a film when exposed to heat and/or UV irradiation and/or EB irradiation and a rutile titanium dioxide, having 0.26-0.33μm average particle size and treated with aluminum oxide in an amount of 1-10wt.% as a surface treating agent. The composition is preferably further supplemented with a fluorescent brightener, for example, 1,3,5-(triphenyl)pyrazoline or the like at a ratio of 0.01-2wt.% or thereabout with respect to the weight of the titanium dioxide.
