Roller press for forming heavy plate into rotationally - symmetrical hollow bodies

Rollers are arranged about circumference of workpiece and act simultaneously, and are pressure or drawing rollers. Three pillars arranged in equilateral triangle guide a similarly triangular support. Between the columns, radially approachable pressure and drawing rollers are arranged above one another in groups of three. Specifically, press pillars are vertical and support is slid hydraulically on them; the rollers have vertical axes, with the pressure roller above and drawing roller below. Workpiece is formed in press chuck located centrally between the rollers, and is e.g. >=70 mm thick. Advantage: better distribution of forces; delivery and removal of workpieces is more easily automated.
