PURPOSE: To reduce the size and to increase the memory capacity by disposing a suspension between a lens holder and a lens unit and mounting an optical pickup package at the suspension mounting part of this lens unit. CONSTITUTION: The focusing and tracking of the lens holder 218 mounting an objective lens 219 are executed by passing current to the suspensions 229, 230, 231, 232 through a repeating substrate 240. The light emitted from the optical pickup package 242 is reflected by a raising mirror 205 toward the objective lens 219, is condensed by the objective lens 219 and is introduced to the optical disk. The light reflected by the optical disk is made incident on the optical pickup package 242 through the objective lens 219 and the raising mirror 205. The arrangement of the optical pickup package 242 in the part which is heretofore the dead space of the lens unit 212 is made possible by this constitution and, therefore, the reduction of the size of the device and the length of optical paths is embodied. |
