<p>PURPOSE: To decrease the capacity of a secondary storage device for storing tables which are referred to by an image compressing program at the time of image compression processing. CONSTITUTION: Compressed tables 23-1-23-N obtained by compressing the tables that the image compression processing part 22 of the image compressing program 2 refers to when performing the image compression processing are incorporated. The preprocessing part 21 and image compression processing part 22 of the image compressing program 2 are loaded on a memory 4 by a load means 3 and executed by a program executing means 5. The program executing means 5 reads in the compressed tables 23-1-23-N out of the secondary storage device 1 and expands them, and puts the expanded tables on the memory 4 when the preprocessing part 21 is executed. Further, the program executing means 5 performs the image compression processing when the image compression processing part 22 is executed while referring to the expanded tables on the memory 4.</p> |
