<p>PURPOSE: To provide a position input device for detecting a position at a high speed without the need of connecting a coordinate indicator and a detector main body by a signal line with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION: Piezoelectric elements 12a and 12b are adhered to both ends of an input board 1 and the other ends of the respective piezoelectric elements 12a and 12b are respectively adhered onto supporting bodies 13a and 13b. At the time, shearing distortion by the load of the input board 1 is applied to the respective piezoelectric elements 12a and 12b. Vibrators 15a and 15b vertically vibrate the input board 1 together with the supporting bodies 13a and 13b. When pressure is applied to the input board 1 by the coordinate indicator 16, signals are generated in the respective piezoelectric elements 12a and 12b corresponding to a distance from the coordinate indicator 16 to the respective piezoelectric elements 12a and 12b. The ratio of the generated signals is obtained in a signal processing circuit and a coordinate is calculated by the signal ratio.</p> |
