INK, INK JET RECORDING USING THE SAME AND RECORDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To obtain an ink containing at least water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a coloring agent and a surfactant having a specific group, stable in discharge from a nozzle, high in printing concentration and rapid in setting property, etc., and useful for ink jet recording apparatuses. CONSTITUTION: This ink contains at least (A) water, (B) a water-soluble organic solvent, (C) a coloring agent and (D) a surfactant comprising a compound containing COOH and COONH4 , preferably expressed by formula I [R is an alkylene, a substituted alkylene or phenylene; M is H or NH4 ; (m)and (n) are each an integer of 0-20]. Furthermore, the ink has preferably pH>=7. The component C is preferably a water-soluble dye containing∞2 carboxyl groups as leaving groups. The ink contains preferably a compound of formula II, etc. Furthermore, the preferred contents of the components B, C and D are 1-70wt.%, 0.5-10wt.% and 0.001-10wt.%, respectively.
