PURPOSE: To mount a crystal without distorting the crystal by fixing a cylindrical member of an amorphous material at a front end of a rod of an amorphous material while holding an axis of the cylindrical member to be orthogonal to an axis of the rod. CONSTITUTION: A groove 12 is formed at a surface of a synthetic resin plate 11. A capillary tube 13 of molten quartz is inserted and fixed in the groove 12. The surface of the resin plate 11 is notched by a cutting blade 15, so that the capillary tube 13 is cut at a plurality of points. A cylindrical member 30 is manufactured in this manner. The member 30 is bonded to a front end of a glass fiber 31 by an epoxy resin 32. A mounting instrument 40 thus obtained is bonded to a metallic pin 34 when used. The pin 34 is bonded to a samarium cobalt magnet 35 and positioned by rapid cooling with the use of low- temperature nitrogen gas. A sample such as a protein crystal or the like can be mounted by this mounting instrument 40 without a stress impressed. |
