<p>PURPOSE: To provide a sheet feeding mechanism fitted with separating pawls which can improve setting performance for sheets of paper to be set and which is free of risk to damage sheets when they are going to be set. CONSTITUTION: Separating pawls 10, 11 of a sheet feed cassette 1 are installed in a cassette case 2 in a position ahead (downstream in the sheet transporting direction S) of the leading edge (foremost in the sheet transporting direction S) of a bundle P of sheets. Accordingly the pawls 10, 11 do not interfere with the sheets when they are going to be set in the case 2. The oversurface of a front side wall 2b of the case is cut aslant to form a sheet introducing part 16, and each sheet called by feed rollers 30, 31 is led to the pawls 10, 11.</p> |
