PURPOSE: To improve a charge and discharge cycle life by using a binding agent, in which the dispersion stability of water paste can be improved, a conductive base board can firmly hold active material and the like, a water absorption property of alkaline electrolyte is high, and a swelling resistant property is excellent in the case of absorption of alkaline electrolyte, for a paste type electrode. CONSTITUTION: A binding agent of a paste type positive electrode 2 contains copolymer particles of a monomer having a COOX radical and vinyl alcohol (where, X is composed of selected elements out of hydrogen, alkaline metal, and alkaline earth metal). The accumulation 10% representative particle diameter D10 of the particles is 1 to 20μm and the accumulation 50% representative particle diameter D50 of the particles is 5 to 50μm. |
