PURPOSE: To provide a facsimile equipment which can perform recording operation by performing a proper processing even when the remaining amount of ink becomes small. CONSTITUTION: A reflection plate 55 is irradiated with light from the light emission part of a sensor 56 through the flank 51a of an ink cartridge. When the ink is sufficiently left in an ink storage part 53, the light is absorbed by the ink and the light reflected on the reflection plate 55 is little, but when no ink is left, the reflected light from the reflection plate 55 has sufficient intensity. The light reception part of the sensor 56 outputs an electric signal generated according to the intensity of the reflected light to the control part of the facsimile equipment. The control part decides whether or not the ink is left according to the output electric signal to perform a recording control process such as recording operation wherein ink consumption is reduced and alarm message output. |
