摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a traffic information output device which shows traffic information including congestion information on roads provided by FM multiplex teletext at a proper period by using a voice so that a driver can easily understand it as to a route guide device mounted on a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a traffic information extracting means 102 which extracts the traffic information from a character string received by an FM teletext receiving means 101, a traffic information holding means 105 which holds the extracted traffic information, a traffic information management means 103 which judges the relation between the current position obtained by a current position acquiring means 109 and the position of a place name of the held traffic information, and a speech synthesizing means 107 which outputs the colloquial sentence of the traffic information generated by a colloquial sentence generating means 106 to the driver by a voice at a proper period according to the judgment result.
