摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vaso-occlusive device that can be easily delivered to a distant and curved portion of a tissue of a human body and has excellent thrombus-forming property by providing the base with a heat supply source for generating heat to secure fiber to the base. SOLUTION: Fiber 12 is arranged between the windings of coil 11 at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction of coil 11 and substantially vertical to the longitudinal axis (14, 15) of coil 11. A mandrel 20 used as a heat supply source extends through the inner cavity 16 of coil 11 to exceed the ends 17, 18 of the coil 11. A voltage V of about 2 to 3 volts is applied as transversing the length of mandrel 20 containing the length of coil lumen 16 thus generating a current of about 0.25 to 0.40 amps. The generated current heats the mandrel 20 to cause the deformation of fiber 12 in the inner cavity of coil 11. Therefore, when the mandrel 20 after the thermal deformation process is drawn out of the coil 11, the fiber 12 is secured to the coil 11 so as to prevent the same from being lost.</p>
