<p>PURPOSE: To reduce storage capacity of internal memory of a MPEG(moving picture image coding expert group) audio decoder and also to enable the decoder to decode at a high speed. CONSTITUTION: By providing a AS-RAM(allocation.scale factor-RAM) 14 into which at least a scfsi information and a scale factor information are stored in this sequence, and an overwriting means 13a which makes a storage area including a specified area, which already storing the scfsi (scale factor subband information) information, store the scale factor information to be successively inputted, and reading out the scfsi information once and confirming the number of the scale factor information before overwriting the scfsi information in the specified storage area with a part of the scale factor information for storing it, this MPEG audio decoder enables the storage area of the scfsi information and that of the scale factor information to share a part of the AS-RAM 14 storage area with each other and do without providing the scfsi information with any dedicated storage area.</p> |
