PURPOSE: To provide a shift lever device which can ensure further safety and realize a shift lock condition surely under specific conditions even in a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A shift lever device 10 is provided with a lock device 24 consisting of a cam 26 and a stopper 28. A grooved pin 14 of a shift lever 12 positioned in 'P' shift, range can enter an engaging section 50 of the stopper 28. The cam 26 is connected to a cable lock device through a key interlock cable 58 and prevents the turn of the cam 26 and the stopper 28 in a condition in which the shift lever 12 is positioned in 'P' shift range. For this reason, P range shift lock in which downward travel of the grooved pin 14 is limited is realized. Since shift lock is performed due to a simple structure which uses the cam 26 and the stopper 28, a mechanism of the shift lever device is simple, requires a small space, and realizes shift lock condition surely. |
