ACTIVATED CARBON AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain activated carbon having improved performance to remove trihalomethane and malodorous substances in a water purifying process and substances to be adsorbed in a vapor phase by using coal as starting material and allowing pares each having <15Å pore diameter to grow. CONSTITUTION: In the pore diameter distribution of this activated carbon obtd. from nitrogen adsorption isotherm, the pore volume of pores each having <15Å pore diameter is >=0.25ml/g and accounts for >=40% of the total pore volume and the pore volume of pores each having 100-300Å pore diameter account for >=1%.
