PURPOSE: To provide an oil seal which is excellent in abrasion resistance and shows stability for a long time. CONSTITUTION: At least a sealing lip 4 of an oil seal is made of elastomer component prepared by mixing silicate compound by 10 to 30wt.% in respect to 100wt.% of elastomer. A shaft 7 is composed of aluminum alloy including 16 to 18wt.% of silicon.
