GRAFTED ULTRAMICROPARTICLE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To produce ultramicroparticles which are produced from surface- functional-group-containing polyacrylamide ultramicroparticles having a large specific surface area as compared in terms of unit weight and into the surfaces of which molecular chains having suitable lengths are introduced to prevent the steric hindrance between the object to be imobilized such as ligands and the surface of an ultramicroparticle. CONSTITUTION: Surface-functional-group-containing polyacrylamide ultramicroparticles having a particle diameter of 0.05-0.5μm and a terminal- functional oligomer are added to a solvent, the mixture is mixed under agitation to disperse the polyacrylamide ultramicroparticles in the mixture and to dissolve the oligomer in the mixture, and the resultant mixture is subjected to a grafting reaction at 50-100 deg.C to introduce the oligomer into the ultramicroparticles.
