PURPOSE: To switch brake condition so as to provide proper braking force according to a rotation area of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A decompression brake device is provided with an eccentric member 7, which is arranged in a fitting part, for a rocker arm 6A to a rocker shaft 2 and can displace an oscillation center of the rocker arm 6A, and a hydraulic plunger type actuator 3, which can rotate the eccentric member 7 around the rocker shaft 2. An actuator plunger 4 can be extended into at least two different lengths, and an amount of rotation in the eccentric member 7 is varied following a change in the extension length of the plunger, and as a result, a valve opening quantity for an exhaust valve can be varied.
