1,243,202. Vibration dampers; toothed gearing. DAVID BROWN GEAR INDUSTRIES Ltd. 10 April, 1969 [16 April, 1968], No. 17925/68. Headings F2Q and F2S. A body which in use is subjected to (e.g. compressive or tensile) loading is constructed as a hollow shell and filled with vibrationdamping material. In the drawing, the central body is a gear-wheel consisting of a toothed rim 11, side walls 12 and a hub 13, all made of steel. The space enveloped by these steel parts is filled with so-called "rigid" urethane foam 26. The foam is introduced in the liquid state via apertures 27 in the walls 12 and sets in situ. The surrounding gear case is similarly constructed, i.e. is made of metal parts 20, 21, 24, 25 defining enclosures which are filled with urethane foam 26. |
