The thickness of manure layer in the container is equal to depth of maggot penetration into the substrate. During the maggot raising period container 2 is positioned horizontally, and an air flow is delivered along the container walls. In the period of separation of maggots from the substrate perforated container 2 is positioned vertically, and the flow of air is discontinued.
