Divergent panel for towed fishing trawl

The method for diverging a towed trawl uses a divergent panel with a flexible carrying surface (10)) having an aircraft wing section. The surface, which is ballasted on one of its sides, floats positively in the water and is connected by hangers (14) at a fastening point (13) to the trawl. The carrying surface has transversely juxtaposed caissons (20) in communication with each other. Ballast (31) is located in a side caisson. There is a float (32) in a caisson (20b) located on the side opposite the ballast about the plane of symmetry (33). Each caisson has an opening (25) at the leading edge (26). The carrying surface has a stiffening lath (29) on the underside (23) of the leading edge, and transverse stiffening laths (30).
