Cpd. of formula A(M,Tb)O3, in which A is one or more alkaline earth metals and M is Sn or Ti and in which M and Tb are present in solid soln., is new. Pref. the M divided by (M+Tb) atomic ratio is max. 60% and the cpd. has a particle size of max. 5 microns. Also claimed are coloured material compsns. (esp. plastics, paints, lacquers, rubbers, ceramics, glazes, paper, inks, cosmetic products, tints, mineral binders and layered coatings) contg. the above cpd.
