<p>An active fraud detection and fraud prevention system for electronic networks which gathers and collates location information for each of a number of uniquely identified terminal devices (1) on the network. The system analyzes the location information in real time, on a transaction by transaction basis, to determine the likelihood that a terminal device (1) has been cloned or illegally duplicated. The system then automatically rejects transactions for devices (1) it considers likely to be cloned, alerts human operators, and keeps records of suspicious transaction attempts.</p> |
