<p>An instrument probe for inspecting a passage contains a plurality of environmental parameter sensors, one of such sensors being a camera for providing visual images of the passage. A light source is positioned behind the camera for providing back-light illumination of the passage for the camera. The power source for the instrument probe is located at the surface. An instrument probe support cable having a reduced diameter is provided and contains an optical fiber located at the center of the cable for conducting seonsor signals to the surface. A protective buffer layer and a protective sheath surrounding the optical fiber protect it from harsh environmental conditions.</p> |
