Wheel with spokes for rail vehicle

A rail wheel has spokes which are arranged at regular intervals between the hub and the rim. The wheel is forged from steel as a complete wheel unit, and is then fitted with the tyre (1). The tyre rim is form or force fitted onto the rim of the wheel. The wheel spokes (6) between the edge of the rim (5) and the edge of the hub (7) are arranged in a radial direction either vertically or outwards at an angle towards the edge of the rim. Any steel grade can be used which allows a reduction in weight in comparison to cast iron, and which has the necessary ductility and tensile strength.
