Gearbox casing breather device for IC engine

The device has a shut-off element for a breather channel. The element (13) has two operational positions. In both these positions, the breather aperture (14) is located relative to the breather channel (11), so that the internal casing chamber (12) is open to the aperture in the first position, and closed in the second position. The shut-off element has a closure cap (15) and a breather cap (16) with the breather aperture. Both caps form part of main body (17). The closure cap has associated retainers (19), which in the second operating position engage with retainers (18) of the casing wall (10). The breather cap has retainers (20), which in first position engage with the retainers of the casing wall.
